Project 3: The Planned Photo shoot Submit Assignment Due Mar 13 by 11:59pm Points 100 Submitting a file upload Task Do pretty much anything you like for a final photo shoot, which must include all the simulated efforts of a professional work, including: Lighting design Planning the schedule, getting model release forms, tracking your time, etc Utilizing photographic equipment BEYOND the camera, such as studio lights, reflectors, planning a stage, etc, if you LIKE. But it's not required. A clear genre (product, wedding, fashion, etc) Purpose Now that you know what all those buttons and lights do, it's time to put them to use in the most professional way possible. Week 9: Food Submit Assignment Due Mar 13 by 11:59pm Points 30 Submitting a text entry box or a file upload Task Each week, post 6 photos that fit the weekly theme: 3 unedited, and a version of those 3 with edits made in Lightroom or Photoshop. This week: FOOD! Purpose (Links to an external site.) Look at these delicious meals. LOOK AT IT! All of these are for fast food and microwave TV dinners, usually extruded out of plastic bags that were shipped out of Cincinnati like five years ago. It's the lowest quality, least fresh food you can eat! And through the powerful lie within a great photograph, it all looks like a beautiful dream that tastes great and came straight from the farm. This week's theme: Night photography. Purpose Night photography brings out some unique challenges. For one thing, it's the ultimate test of your muscle memory! Like a soldier assembling his gun blindfolded, you don't have the luxury of seeing all those camera buttons at night. A good photographer can modify their settings with ease even in pitch darkness. Second, the total lack of light means uniquely compensating for that with your exposure. If you have a subject (like a person) You might expose them with a flash, followed by a full minute of exposure to get the starry night behind them. Criteria for Success Your edited and unedited photos will demonstrate 1 or more techniques for night photography, such as:

Museums are using photogrammetry to preserve human culture, and insurance companies are using photogrammetry to assess whether your roof is dangerous. You can even get 3D scanned for your wedding! Theme 6: Panorama Submit Assignment Due Feb 14 by 10:45am Points 30 Submitting a website url or a file upload Task Each week, post 6 photos that fit the weekly theme: 3 unedited, and a version of those 3 with edits made in Lightroom or Photoshop. This week: PANORAMA ! Purpose Panoramas are one of the most jaw-dropping ways to shoot the world around you, but they impose specific technical challenge. Lens choice, stitching software, and learning from your mistakes all play in together for a great panorama. Criteria for Success Successfully upload TWO panoramas. Since they're made out of a ton of photos, I don't think 3 is needed :P Use jpegs unless otherwise stated in that week’s theme. You can upload your files in a .zip or .7z. Additionally, if you have a Flickr account, website, or other online portal you’d prefer to use, post your photos there and turn in a URL as your assignment. Rubric 30 points total. 5 points for 3
